Yulo Carries PH Artistic Gymnastics Team With 7 SEAG Medals

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Philippine gymnastics poster boy Carlos Edriel “Caloy” Yulo capped of his first
Southeast Asian Games stint with seven medals, having won in all of the seven events in the men’s
category, on the final competition day of the men's artistic gymnastics of the 30th Southeast Asian
Games Wednesday here at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, this city.
The 19-year old gymnast from Leveriza in Pasay City clinched two golds in the floor exercise and
individual all-around events, and five silvers each in the pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel
bars, and horizontal bar apprarus finals.
Yulo appeared to be the lone member of the Philippine gymnastics squad who secured medals for the
country in this year’s SEA Games artistic gymnastics competition as fellow national male gymnasts
Reyland Capellan, Jan Gwynn Timbang, Justine Ace de Leon, and lady gymnasts Mya Kalani Wilson, Cristina
Onofre, Chloe Shaine Gatlabayan, and Mariana Josefa Hermoso missed out on a podium finish in their
respective apparatus finals.
The 30th SEA Games gymnastics competition will resume featuring the rhythmic gymnastics event on
December 6 also here at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
