PH Rhythmic Gymnastics Team Wins Bronze In The Group All Around Finals

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The rhythmic gymnastics (RG) national team added a bronze medal for the
Philippines in the RG group competition of this year’s Southeast Asian Games here at the Rizal Memorial
Coliseum.
The squad, comprising gymnasts Katrina Lorenzo, Jean Caluscusin, Andrea Mae Emperado, Divina Sembrano,
and AJ Melgar, dazzled the crowd with their synchronized routines on their way to bagging the bronze
medal in the group all around final, wherein scores from the group all around-single apparatus (balls)
competition and the mixed apparatus (3 hoops and 2 pair of clubs) event were summed up.
The Philippines was outperformed by the team from Malaysia and Thailand, who tallied a score of 22.650
and 21.000, respectively, in the single apparatus finals. The PH team registered 17.150.
Meanwhile, the Thailand team managed to put together a superb performance en route to the gold finish in
the mixed apparatus with a score of 18.900. Malaysia and Philippines scored 17.400 and 12.000,
respectively.
Overall, Malaysia topscored with an accumulated score of 40.050 for the gold medal finish followed by
silver medalist Thailand with 39.900. The Philippines placed third with a total score of 29.150.
